2013 Summer Reading Program Activities

6th Annual Summer Reading Program Fun Run and Walk
Saturday, June 1st, 2013
8:00 am registration; 9:00 am start
ALL AGES! Registration is FREE!

SRP Activity Dates: June 3rd – June 21st and July 8th – 26th
** FREE SUMMER LUNCH will be served @ the library from 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM

• Monday (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Story and Reading time
• Tuesday (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Arts and Crafts
• Wednesday (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Gaming Day – Wii/Board/Computer
• Thursday (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Arts and Crafts
• Friday (1:00 pm/3:00 pm) Movie Day

Children 7 and under need a caretaker 13 years or older present. Register @ the library.

Easter Egg Hunt – March 23rd

We will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23rd at the K’awaika Center.

Events Schedule:
11:00 am – Welcome and Sign In
Easter Egg hunts will be by age groups: (Prizes available for each group)
11:15 am – Group 1 Hunt – Babies – 2 yrs. old
11:30 am – Group 2 Hunt – 3 – 5 yr. olds
11:45 am – Group 3 Hunt – 6 – 9 yr. olds
12:00 pm – Group 4 Hunt – 10 – 13 yr. olds
12:15 pm – Group 5 Hunt – 14 and older

Volunteers to help monitor activities are greatly appreciated.
**Children 7 and under will need to be accompanied by a caregiver 13 and older and cannot be left alone.
Pictures with the EASTER BUNNY will be available. We can email the picture to you.
Event photos may be used on the library webpage and facebook.

**Basket includes – a dessert cookbook, jell-o molds, no bake cheesecake, vanilla and chocolate pudding, can of fruit cocktail, and an assortment of JELL-O flavors.

How to earn a drawing ticket:
• Stop by the library to get your free JELL-O!
• Fill out the JELL-O Trivia, due by 5:00 pm, February 13th. Download a copy at http://www.lagunalibrary.com.
• Check-out books
• Update your library card information or get a NEW library card.
• Drawing will be held at the end of the day February 13th.

The library will be closed on Thursday, February 7th, all day. Staff will be attending Library Legislative Day at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe to advocate for NM Libraries.

Regular hours will resume on Friday, February 8th at 8:00 am.

Letters To Santa

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Children are invited to write and mail a letter to Santa at the

Laguna Public Library’s Santa Mailbox

Letters may be written and dropped off at the Laguna Public Library from December 3^rd – 15^th, 2012. One letter per child may be submitted.

Click here for the Dear Santa letter Please make sure to include your child’s name, age, and grade.

**If you would like a response from Santa, personalized letters (including a North Pole postmark) and a book of your choice will be available for pick up at the library after December 19^th during regular business hours. Please include a parent/guardian name and phone number on the back so we can contact you when the letter is ready for pick-up.

November is Native American Heritage Month!

Check out our Native American Collection and Laguna Collection – Books, DVDs, and Pictures.

Visit our online catalog to see what is available.

Celebrate our Laguna culture and traditions by visiting the library to see what Laguna resources are available.

Laguna collection includes language materials, history, pictures, and DVDs. There are also digitized copies of the language materials, winter tales, and the Towncrier all available on the library computers. The POL Workforce Language group also recorded Laguna phrases and words, which are also available on the library computers.
