Laguna Book Club – February Title
The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga – 2008
Balram Halwai is a complicated man. Servant. Philosopher. Entrepreneur. Murderer. Over the course of seven nights, by the scattered light of a preposterous chandelier, Balram tells us the terrible and transfixing story of how he came to be a success in life – having nothing but his own wits to help him along.
We will be meeting on March 24th, 2009, at the Laguna Public Library from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. A few copies of the book are available at the library for check-out. The book club is a way to share thoughts and opinions of a variety of books with members of the community, recommend new titles, and enjoy the pleasure of reading.
